It has been a very full week or so for me. I was the guest lecturer in a class on Monday evening at ABSW. We talked about music, liturgy, and how the shape of the liturgy shapes us as believers. Good stuff. Then the week got under way with various papers to research and such. Don Saliers is also in town. He spoke to our Liturgical Studies area on Wednesday and preached at CDSP's eucharist service last night. After the service he spoke at length about lamentation and the Psalms. I loved it. How do we engage the spiritual and moral ambiguity of this world? Well...Lament. Good stuff.
How long, O Lord? How long?
Today I am off to Palo Alto and church. We have a potluck dinner tonight. I have some work to do editing a video for the evening's festivities. But before that can get under way I have to pull together some notes for the GOE (General Ordination Exam) prep class I am leading (?!) this morning. Ah, hymnals. It should be a good time.
AAR also gets under way today. It's going to be a full weekend with lectures to attend, seminars to enjoy, and friends to embrace...all weekend long!
